Liverpool Confirm Permanent Transfer as Young Winger Begins New Chapter

FULL NEWS:
Liverpool have officially confirmed the permanent departure of one of their young wingers, marking the start of a new chapter in the player’s career away from Anfield.

The player in question is 19-year-old winger Trent Kone-Doherty, who has completed a permanent move to Norwegian club Molde after progressing through Liverpool’s academy system.

The deal, reportedly worth around €750,000, includes both a buy-back clause and a sell-on clause, ensuring Liverpool retain some level of future control and potential financial benefit should the player develop further.

Kone-Doherty joined Liverpool in 2022 from Derry City and quickly became a regular figure within the club’s youth ranks, featuring prominently at U18, U19, and U21 levels.

During his time at the club, he also made two senior appearances, including his debut in the FA Cup and another outing in domestic competition, giving him a taste of first-team football.

Liverpool confirmed the move in an official statement, expressing appreciation for the winger’s contributions and wishing him success in his future career as he seeks more regular first-team opportunities abroad.

The transfer reflects Liverpool’s continued strategy of allowing young talents to move on permanently when first-team pathways are limited, while still protecting their long-term interests through smart contractual clauses.
