Manchester United have reportedly joined Chelsea in the race to sign highly rated Como centre-back Jacobo Ramon, with several Premier League clubs keeping a close eye on the young defender.

According to TEAMtalk, United have stepped up their interest in the 21-year-old after being impressed by his performances, particularly during Como’s remarkable 4-1 Champions League victory over the Red Devils two weeks ago, when Ramon found the back of the net.

Chelsea and Arsenal are also monitoring the Spanish defender, while Liverpool and Fulham have previously been linked with a potential move.

Chelsea are believed to be particularly interested, with reports suggesting that manager Xabi Alonso is keen on bringing Ramon to Stamford Bridge as he looks to strengthen his defensive options.

Ramon joined Como from Real Madrid in 2025 for just €2.5 million. However, his impressive development has seen his estimated value rise significantly, with reports placing his potential transfer fee at around £42 million.

A possible Premier League transfer could prove complicated, though. Real Madrid reportedly negotiated a 50 per cent sell-on clause as well as buy-back options for 2027 when they allowed the defender to leave.

Those conditions could give the Spanish giants considerable influence over his future, even as interest from England continues to grow.

With Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal all monitoring his situation, Ramon could become one of the most sought-after young defenders in the upcoming transfer windows.

Liverpool fans will also be watching developments closely, particularly if the club decides to strengthen its defensive options.
