Both Liverpool and Everton have issued a joint message to fans ahead of Saturday’s Merseyside Derby, addressing concerns about potential disruption due to severe weather conditions.
An amber weather warning for “severe winds” has been issued by the Met Office for parts of the UK, including Merseyside, as Storm Darragh is expected to bring gusts of up to 80mph, causing significant disruption.
The Premier League fixture, set to be the last top-flight match at Goodison Park, is scheduled for a 12:30pm kick-off. However, rumors of a possible postponement have circulated following the announcement of the storm’s likely impact.
The Met Office has warned of “damaging winds” that could pose a “risk to life” and lead to travel delays, power outages, and property damage. While all football matches in Wales have been postponed due to the weather, the Merseyside Derby is still set to go ahead at this time.
