Liverpool fans turned on several players after Saturday’s frustrating 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Anfield.
The Reds came into the clash knowing a win would boost their hopes of securing Champions League football, while Chelsea arrived in terrible form after six straight league defeats.
Ryan Gravenberch fired Liverpool ahead with a stunning strike from distance, but Chelsea responded through Enzo Fernandez before halftime. Both sides later had goals ruled out for offside in a tense second half, while Virgil van Dijk also rattled the crossbar late on.
The atmosphere worsened when Arne Slot was booed by sections of the Anfield crowd after substituting teenage sensation Rio Ngumoha with 25 minutes remaining.
But most of the online fury was aimed at Jeremie Frimpong following another disappointing display on the right wing.
Supporters on social media brutally slammed the Dutchman, with some calling him one of Liverpool’s worst signings in recent years. Others claimed he “doesn’t improve any Premier League side,” while one furious fan described him as “one of the worst players” ever to wear the famous red shirt.
